Seattle was "Fabulous"

Travis has said to me he can tell when I am having a great time because I always use the word "FABULOUS"! Our trip to Seattle was fabulous, fun, superb, magnificant, exciting, marvelous, fantastic, terrific, etc. We were there for almost 6 days and 5 nights and loved every minute of it. Our anniversary was last week so it was a great excuse to get away together. Travis' wonderful parents volunteered to watch the kids while we were gone. We never worried and we know the kids had a great time with Grandpa and Grandma. We hope that Grandma and Grandpa felt the same way.

We met our great friends, Jess and Katie, there for a couples trip. Katie and I shopped and shopped, the boys went golfing, we saw movies, ate at great restaurants, explored the sites of Seattle, went on a ferry ride to the San Juan Islands, cruised around Friday Harbor in Scootcars, went whale watching, played Columbian Uno (a card game), hot tubbed, laughed a lot, and of course went to the Mariners vs. Red Sox game. We are so grateful for the friendship we share with Jess and Katie. We miss not living by them but look forward to many more trips with them. We love you guys!

It was nice for Travis and I to get away together and take a break from our crazy life in Portland. Travis still worried about school and work but tried to keep his studying to a minimum. I loved being with him 24/7 and remembered why I fell in love with him in the first place. Travis does so much for our family, I feel so blessed to have him in my life. I recommend everyone take the opportunity to get away alone with your spouse, it does wonders for your marriage. We just got back last night and Travis had to leave out of town for meetings and then he is going straight to Seattle with buddies from high school for a weekend of golf and more Mariners' games. I have been depressed all day, I miss him already. It is great to be with the kids again, it makes you feel so loved when they will not leave your side and all they want to do is hug and kiss you.

What a great trip! We're taking our first trip without our girls in a month--an Alaskan cruise with my family (no grandkids allowed :). We're really looking forward to a little break, but I think we're going to miss them terribly at the same time. You mentioned something about Travis and school--what is he in school for? Love you!
