Crazy Kids

We asked the kids to go upstairs and put their jammies on and this is how they came down...

I really think Jake down deep loves being surrounded by sisters. Some how they got him to try on Sydney's jammies and the girls have on Jake's. I love seeing my kids laughing and playing together.

"Staycation"

I have been procrastinating posting what we did in June and I finally just finished it. I started the post around the end of June and it has just been sitting as a draft. So now the June post is before the 4th of July and Brynley's blessing. I forgot to post pictures about our adventures we had in Portland before Trav headed back to work.

Bike Rides

We went on a couple of bike rides to Old Town Sherwood to get the kids a doughnut from the doughnut store.

Champoeg Park
We were going to go to the coast one day but it was cold and rainy there so instead we went to this big state park on the river for a picnic lunch and hiking. Jake and Travis brought their baseball mits to play catch, we brought Diesel to run around and chase the ball and bugs, Sydney loved picking the flowers and Brynley just hung out in the Baby Bjorn. This is the few I have of Brynley when she is strapped to me in the Bjorn, what a cute little snuggle bug.

Trav's Triathlon at Hagg Lake

Last Saturday Travis participated in his first triathlon. He signed up to do it with 6 other guys from our ward. He started training right after Brynley was born and had fun training with the guys. It was a sprint triathlon, which was a 1/2 mile swim, 13 mile bike ride and a 3.2 mile run. The course was really hilly so it was a bit challenging but he still did awesome. He finished in an hour and thirty-one minutes. He had a great time and is planning on continuing to do triathlons. We are signing up to do one together in September. The kids and I had a great time cheering him on and are so proud of him. He asked me right after what it is like being married to a triathlete. Lucky me!

Rub a Dub Dub our Chub in the Tub

I took Brynley to the doctor today for her 2 month well baby check. She weighed in at 13lbs. 6 oz. and was 24 inches. That means she is in the 95 percentile for height and weight. The doctor said that she looks great and is so healthy! She also had 3 immunizations which always breaks your heart to see your baby in pain. Brynely sleeps a 7 - 8 hour stretch every night and then after she eats for about 15 minutes she goes back down for another 3 hours or so. She is always such a happy baby unless she is tired. She smiles now with her whole body and is starting to make little cooing noises. We are so blessed to have this beautiful, healthy little girl in our lives.

Brynley takes a bath every night before bed, she absolutely loves it and could just hang out all night in the tub. She cries whenever we take her out. The other kids love to come and help give her a bath.

4th of July

We had a great day on the 4th of July. We went to a 4th of July breakfast at the park with everyone from church and Travis' parents came along. John, Angie and the kids got here in the afternoon so we spent the rest of the day hanging out at home. The weather was perfect so we had a great BBQ in our backyard. We put all of the boys in charge of getting fireworks and they came back with a box taller than most of the kids plus a couple of bags full of fireworks. Thanks Grandpa Risenmay! After we set off the fireworks we went in the backyard and sat around the fire pit roasting marshmallows, eating smores and listening to Grandpa's scary stories.

Travis was the fireworks expert, he put on a great show.

Brynley's Blessing

Today our sweet little angel is 8 weeks. It is amazing how fast the time has gone. She smiles a lot and starts to make sweet little noises when she gives you that big grin. She sleeps for 7-8 hour stretches and then goes back to sleep for another 3 hours after that. Brynley has been such a joy to have in our family. She is so loved and the kids still fight over who gets to hold her next.

Aunt Angie calls Brynley a "Chunk of Burning Love". We love her chunky kissable cheeks!

This weekend was the 4th of July so Trav's parents came to visit as well as John, Angie and kids from Washington. We blessed Brynley yesterday. It was so nice. She wore the same blessing dress that Baylee and Sydney wore. My parents were supposed to come but my Dad recently had surgery and was not feeling well enough to make the long trek from Texas. We really missed them but they were so thoughtful and sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers to let me know they were thinking of us and wishing they could be here.

Since none of my family were able to make it, Brynley still had something special from each of them on her special day. She had a beautiful white blanket that my mom had crochet that each of my children had on their blessing day. My sister, Lori, had made this special blessing bracelet for Baylee that both Sydney and Brynley wore. My sister, Tina, had given Baylee a beautiful beaded bracelet that Brynely wore as well. I felt that my family were all apart of the blessing even though not here physically.

We had a wonderful dinner with friends and family after the blessing! We are so thankful to have fabulous friends here to share special times with us, they are part of our family and we love them. We wish all of our friends and family could have been here to meet our little Brynley and be here for her blessing day.
