Little Monkey Sydney

Sydney came downstairs today just before I took Baylee to a friend's house with lipstick covering her mouth and chin. She would not let me wipe it off. After we dropped Baylee off, I looked back and Sydney somehow found my glasses and put them on. When we got back home, she was sound asleep looking like this. She is such a funny girl.

School is closed!

Today school was cancelled because it snowed almost an inch and it made the roads icy. Oregon is crazy. This place definetly is not Montana, Colorado or Utah. Everything pretty much shuts down when snow dusts the ground. Baylee and our neighbor had to play outside first thing this morning.

Ice Skating

Baylee had a birthday party for a friend at the local ice skating rink last week. She really wanted me to go with her since she had never been. It was a lot of fun, it brought back many memories. I pretty much grew up in an ice rink with my brother playing hockey and my sisters being figure skaters, I was a "Rink Rat". I even took lessons back in the day, thanks to my sister, Lori. Baylee and her friends were amazed that I could skate backwards, do a few spins and skate pretty fast. Baylee did great, she had no fear of falling. I need to take Baylee back soon and even get Jake to try it. He would be a great little hockey player.

Over the Rainbow

The first song on our playlist is "Over the Rainbow" by Israel Kamakawiwo and is our family's favorite song. When ever I hear it, is makes me smile. I hope this song puts a smile on your face as well.

Lincoln City

The kids have been begging us to stay in a hotel for about a month or so. Travis and I decided to surprise the kids and take them on a trip to the Oregon Coast to stay in a hotel. We had to pick a hotel with a swimming pool of course. Martin Luther King weekend we told the kids we were going to have a family day and go on a drive somewhere. Little did they know that we had bags packed in the back of the car and the dog at a friend's house. As we were driving, Baylee had a thousand questions. Travis kept on teasing her about what we were going to do. She kept telling us that she did not want to go to the beach for the day. We told her whatever we did would be fun. Travis decided to pull into "some random hotel" for directions. We all waited in the car and when he came back out he started to drive and said I know where we are going now. He drove through the parking lot and pulled into another parking spot. He said, "We're here!" You should have seen Baylee's face, she was about to cry because she was so frustrated with Travis, she thought he was teasing her again. When the kids realized we were staying they were so excited! We had a great time as a family. We brought the Wii and movies. We went swimming, ate out and played down on the beach. We love spending time together as a family.

I finally decided to start a blog.

Okay, I finally did it, I started a blog for our family. It seems like almost every week someone I know starts their own blog. Blogs are so fun to read and a great way to keep in touch. I love reading Heather Stucki's blog, she is all the way in Budapest and it is so fun to hear about their adventures. I will keep our blog up to date so you can see how big our kids are getting and the adventures we have in this part of the country.
