Wasatch Back Relay 2010

In June, I ran the Wasatch Back Relay with 2 of my sisters-in-law and other friends/sisters to make up our relay team of 12. Our team's name was "Another Long Distance Relationship", since we came from 5 different states. We ran from Logan, UT to Park City about 186 miles, each running 3 legs that ranged from 3-8 miles in a 24 hour period. Our team consisted of 2 vans of 6 that took turns running the legs. While our van was running, the other van was resting and vice versa. We lived on minimal sleep (about 2-3 hours on the floor of a high school gym in Coalville, UT) ran at high elevation (up to 9000 square feet), ate what we could that did not make us sick, spent many many hours in a Suburban, laughed and made wonderful new friends. We also ran, ran and ran.
Our team dinner the night before the big race.
Travis' brother, Matt, was our driver for our first leg. He was wonderful and very supportive!
Van 1: Britta, Emily, Me, Heather, Angie and Becky. We decorated our Suburban, to represent our team!
The two ladies (my sisters-in-law) that got me into this crazy race. We ran our first half marathon together 3 years ago, Ang and I went to Boston with Heather for her to run the Boston Marathon the next year and then Angie and I have ran a half marathon together the last couple of years. Next sisters' weekend, we are going to do something that does not involve running, hopefully just shopping and relaxing.
Angie and I at the start of the race, Heather was the first runner.
Sione from "The Biggest Loser" started the race.
Getting ready to run my last leg (at 7000 feet).
I am off and in the zone.
Handing the relay bracelet off to Angie for her last leg. I was so happy to be done.
We have ran many miles on these shoes.
Angie's 8 mile climb up a mountain, she was a trooper.
Our van after the last leg, time to celebrate!
Beautiful view of Park City, the finish line.
The car we lived in for 2 days...
Our celebratory meal, hamburgers, fries and shakes. YUMMY!
On the gondola ride up to The Canyons to meet the other van at the finish line.
Waiting for our last runner to all cross the finish line together as a team.
I love these girls and I am so blessed to have them as my sisters!
The whole team, "Another Long Distance Relationship"
