Valentine's Day and Presidents' Day Weekend

The kids were not thrilled to be looking into the sun.

View of part of beautiful Portland.

Sydney was so excited to ride on the tram.

Jake and the class frog.
We have had a fun and busy weekend. Travis' cousin, Chris, (our kids call him Dirty Wilks) came to visit for the weekend. Friday was busy with Valentine's parties at school and that night I was in charge of a big Primary activity for our church where we did a few service projects and had pizza for 120 people, (90+ were kids). After the activity, Travis put the kids to bed and I collapsed while the guys went to a movie and then stayed up until 4am playing the XBOX 360. Travis only does this with his brothers and this cousin, I do not know how they do it, I think they are crazy.
Valentine's Day in our family is more of a "Love Day" for all of us, we give each other Valentine's and little gifts, make sugar cookies and do something fun together. This Valentine's day we went downtown to show Chris around Portland. We rode a tram up to OHSU, my kids loved it. OHSU is the Oregon Health and Science University, it is a med school and a huge hospital up on a big hill in Portland. When you ride the tram you overlook Portland and the river, it is so pretty. Jake has a green frog with him in the pictures because it is the "special frog" from school that the kids get to bring home and write about what they did with the frog in a journal. After the tram ride we rode the street car to the waterfront and walk around a little bit, and also ate lunch. It was such a beautiful day. Chris was such a good sport to go all around with our crazy family all day.
That night, Chris, Travis and I went out to dinner and then a movie. I was lucky to have 2 Valentine's dates. We have had a blast with Chris here, our kids think of him has an uncle and always have a great time with him. He leaves on Monday and we hope he comes back and visits us again soon.
The kids have school tomorrow (President's Day) because they have to make up from the week school was cancelled before Christmas from all of the snow we got. They are a little bummed but are excited to go to Utah on Wednesday to see all of their cousins from my side, especially Jeff, who just got home from a mission. My nephew, Kaleb, is leaving on a mission in a couple of weeks so we are all going to say goodbye to him. My brother is coming into town with his 3 kids, we have not seen his kids in 3 years. My parents are flying in from Texas, it will be a big fun reunion with my entire immediate family. I can not wait, I just wish this little girl in my belly was here so they can all meet her as well. I will post pictures of the whole Moss Gang when we get back from Utah.
